Christmas at Force: Festive Food, Fell Races & All the Cosy Vibes

There’s something truly magical about Christmas in the Lake District - the crisp air, the twinkling lights, the sound of boots on frosty ground, and of course… the smell of something delicious coming from Force Café. This year, we’re celebrating the season with great food, fantastic events, and plenty of ways to treat the people you love (or yourself - we don’t judge).

🎄 Christmas Lunches & Shared Evenings

Our festive lunches and shared evenings are now in full swing - the perfect opportunity to settle into the seasonal spirit with family, friends, or your favourite work crowd. Expect hearty dishes, warm hospitality, and that cosy Christmas atmosphere Force is known for. For more information or to book your spot, get in touch now! Our lunches are available to book throughout December, whilst our Shared Christmas Evening will be held on December 12th.

Christmas Eve: Open until 3:30pm

Christmas Day: Closed - our team will be enjoying their own festive feasts

From Boxing Day onwards: Open as normal

Whether you're stopping by after a wintery walk, meeting friends for brunch, or simply craving one of Dex’s incredible dishes, we’ll be here with a warm welcome.

🏃 27th December – Wansfell Fell Race

 One of Ambleside’s most iconic post-Christmas traditions returns on the 27th December - the legendary Wansfell Fell Race!

The café is usually buzzing all day with runners, supporters and curious spectators, and we absolutely love the atmosphere. You can spectate from the café entrance or wander up to join the excitement on Wansfell itself.

A gentle reminder:

Please take extra care on the roads — there will be plenty of runners making their speedy dash to and from the summit!

🎶 Christmas Choir – Dates Coming Soon

Nothing says Christmas like those classic festive harmonies. Our Christmas Choir will be making an appearance again this year - dates will be confirmed very soon, so keep an eye on our social channels for announcements. It’s always a beautiful night (and pairs perfectly with a hot chocolate).
