Located just a short distance away from the spectacular Stock Ghyll Force, FRC café and terrace is a destination for visitors to Ambleside. This charming café has opened its doors to welcome walkers, their families and their dogs. Whether you are strolling up to visit the waterfalls, or on a longer hike over Wansfell, up to Kirkstone or beyond, a welcome awaits. Please note that, as a café catering to walkers, we do not offer car parking, with the exception of two accessible parking bays.
FRC café is open every day for breakfast, brunch and lunch coffee, tea and cakes. We serve barista coffee from Cumbrian roasters, Carvetti, a wide range of teas and soft drinks, with local ales and a small but perfectly formed choice of wines and spirits. Twice a week during the season, we open for wood-fired pizza nights on the terrace (booking is essential) and we will be hosting monthly evening talks from some of our local celebrities.
We aim to offer a unique customer experience, top quality dishes made with locally sourced ingredients from some of the many quality suppliers we have in the area, along with freshly baked bread, cakes, and pastries. We also have a small shop that stocks a range of locally sourced gifts and mementos. We aim to be a force for good, donating 1% of our turnover to charities that are involved in climate change and regenerative leadership - Tythe.org.

As a Chef de Partie, you will work with the Head Chef to create menus and daily specials, manage food cost and inventory, and ensure high standards of food quality and storage. You must lead by example, adapt to changes and new ideas, and comply with applicable health codes and regulations.
Monday – Sunday 1Oam – 5.OOpm. Hot food finishes at 4.OOpm
Pizza evenings on Friday and Saturday evenings during the Summer (booking essential)

There is no parking available on site for café customers.
Limited accessible parking is available near to the entrance.
